For Your Immediate Attention: Newest & Hottest Music Releases This Week!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I don’t know about you, but listening to music is one of my favorite things.

Music can change your mood, motivate you to take care of things you need and help you get through the hard times.

Therefore, with the Holidays quickly approaching, let's discuss a few of the hottest recent records that have been dropped in the past few weeks because we will need music to get us through!

#1: For All the Dogs Scary Hours Edition: Drake

Drake is on a roll, releasing back-to-back music and providing a new six-song album.

And although he said he was on a break, the break ended quickly.

Songs on the album include “ You Broke My Heart” and “Stories About My Brother" (Drake, 2023).

What do you all think about the album? Is it too quickly released?

Or will you all be bumping these new records in your car?

#2: André 3000: New Blue Sun

Andre is giving us a different taste and vibe of his multi-faceted armor of talent.

While this album does not include any forms of rap, it allows us a glimpse into where Mr. 3000 has been since his last release with Outkast many years ago.

There have been a lot of opinions on Social Media about it not being an album with bars, but are you all open to artists evolving?

Does Mr. 3000 need to stay in the same space as back in 2006, or is he allowed to release new things and be accepted for where he is currently?

Another question that has populated in response to an interview he completed with GQ is, “Should one stop rapping at a certain age" (Baron, 2023)?

Let me know your thoughts in the comments. Will you be bumping this new album?

#3: Welcome 2 Collegrove: Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz

In response to their first joint album, Collegrove, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz have dropped a new album featuring artists like Usher, Rick Ross, 21 Savage, and many more.

Giving us a glimpse into their lifestyle, who they are, and what they bring to the table, listeners are in for a trip down the “streets” of Collegrove.

With songs like “Big Diamonds, Presha, Oprah & Gayle, and Moonlight, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz are not stopping, giving nothing but heat (Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz, 2023).

Let me know your thoughts in the comments on the album. Will you be listening?

#4: Dennis Daughter: Lola Brooke

Lola Brooke has had an explosive year and recently dropped her debut album in memory of her father, Dennis Daughter.

With hits like “Don’t Play With It, You, I am Lola, and Don’t Get Me Started,” listeners are in for a story on Lola Brooke’s come-up (Lola Brooke, 2023).

With women in hip-hop taking over and continuing to place their stamp in the rap game, Brooke’s album is another reminder that women in hip-hop ain’t done yet.

Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Are you bumping this album? Or are you bumping something else I did not include on this list today?

I’ll see you all in two weeks for our next discussion.

Peace & Prosperity,

Jadis DeShong-Venay
